Work Based Learning
Providing young people with the chance to get a qualification makes good business sense and can be a real benefit to employers. One of the best ways for young people to get the skills and qualifications to do a job is through an Apprenticeship. This is where the company offers on-the-job training and pays the young person a wage or training allowance. The company then receives help towards the cost of the off-the-job element.
All Apprenticeships are structured around nationally approved work-based learning frameworks. In many cases these can be tailored to suit the requirements of both the employer and their young employee and can take place in one or more of the following formats: day release, block release, workshops, evening classes and in-house assessment.
